I have used two varieties of Dal in making this Egg Dal dish. Together they bring so much flavor to this dish. Easy to cook with no fuss.

Variation of Egg Dal or Lentil with Egg Recipe
Lentil with Egg can be enjoyable as soup in a winter day. It’s filling too. This dish is so perfect for those days when you are not in a mood to cook so much. Make it little liquid version and serve with runny eggs on top.
You can add Green leafy veggies to the Dal. You can add Moringa leaves or Baby spinach to make it more healthy.
I sometime add Carrots, French beans and Green peas to it . The result is a perfect one bowl meal .you can enjoy as a winter meal.
Serve in a rustic bowl, play your favorite track and enjoy !
Eggs in Lentil with Egg Recipe
I have used four eggs to prepare this dish as I have prepared for four people. You can count one egg per person while serving one bowl .

- 1 cup Black Masoor Dal
- 1/4 cup Red Masoor Dal
- 4 egg
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp Coriander powder
- 1 tbsp Black pepper powder
- 1/2 cup tomato
- 1 tbsp fresh cream
- 2 green chilies
- 1.5 tbsp cooking oil
- salt
- water

- Soak your dal in water for minimum 2-3 hour.Now boil it in until it's soft and done.You can pressure cook for 2 whistle.
- Now take a pan and heat oil.Add ginger,garlic paste and saute for 2 minute.
- Add coarinder , chili,turmeric powder to oil and immediately add the cooked lentil.Mix well and cook for 2 min.Add chopped tomatoes,green chilis and salt ,cover and cook till tomatoes are soft.Add cream and mix well.Check the consistency of the gravy this point.Add little water if it's too dry as eggs need to be cooked in it.Mix powder of clove,black pepper,cinnamon,Break the eggs on top of dal. Cover it and cook at slow flame until your eggs are perfect.
- Serve hot with Indian flat bread or Ghee rice .
