Raw Mango Jam Recipe
Lets talk about some tips and tricks to make this Jam. After you grate the Mango ( you need big hole on the grater ) , mix with a pinch of salt. Spread them on a flat plate. Don’t forget to discard the stone or you can plant it .
Cover with a thin muslin cloth and sun dry for 2 hours .No more drying please.
Make a sugar syrup ( one string ) and add this grated Mangoes and cook. She adds cloves and raisins to it . That works beautifully adding so much flavours. I won’t recommend you to skip cloves. You may skip raisins if you don’t like them.
Shelf life of Raw Mango Jam
Do not add water at all in after you add Mangoes to the syrup. It will spoil the shelf life. This Mango jam can be stored at room temperature ( I’m talking about Indian Summer ) for 2 weeks easily. If you are keeping in the fridge , then the shelf life will be a month !
So choice is yours. In my case we finished in just 5 days ! I can’t just stop eating 🙂
I spotted this beautiful Dahi-Vada stall on the street of Bhubaneswar recently . A famous street food of Odisha.
