Pakodi Chaat Recipe
I have prepared a Chaat with Pakodi.
After pani-puri ,I always love to pamper my taste bud with a plate of hot pakodi-chaat.
In each bite you can get a combination of flavors to tickle your taste bud.Sweet,spicy, savory at the same time.
And the best thing is that you can always adjust the level of each flavor according to your taste ..Isn’t so cool ! You can increase the spicy level adding more green chillies or chili paste.

Tips & TricksÂ
To make Crispy Fritters, you can add 1 tsp rice flour to batter. It should be a coarse powder.
I always avoid salt in the batter. The consistency of the batter should be in between thick and liquid.
Adding curry leaves is optional. You can skip. I love the additional flavour of crispy curry leaves in this Pakodi Chaat Recipe.
If you are planning to make this for a home party , you can fry Pakodi before hand. Prepare all other ingredients like chopped Onions , Sweet Curd etc.
Combine everything and make a plate of Pakodi Chaat just before serving. I am sure it will be a crowd pleaser.
I have prepared crispy Onion Pakodi for this Chaat . You can try with Potatoes. Cut potatoes into small cubes and make crispy Aloo Fritters. That tastes equally good.

- 1 cup peas White
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 cup gram flour
- 1 onion
- 1/8 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tbsp black pepper
- 1 tsp cumin powder roasted powder
- 2 green chili
- 2 tsps Tamarind paste
- 1 onion
- 1 tsp sugar powder
- 3 tbsps curd
- cooking oil
- Black salt
- sev for serving (opt)
- 2 tbsps peanut roasted
- curry leaves
- Fresh coriander leaves
- water

- Soak white-peas for 4 hour .Add turmeric and salt ,pressure cook up to 3 whistle until those are too soft.
- Mash peas with back side of a spatula ,add black pepper powder, coarinder powder,cumin powder and cook with 1/4 cup of water for 2 minute.
- In the mean time fry pakodi. Make a thick batter of gram-flour,curry leaves , chopped onion ,baking soda with 4 to 5 tbsp of water.Heat oil , drop the batter in the oil to form small fritters. Reduce heat to medium and deep fry till they turn golden brown.
- Add curd with sugar powder.Adjust salt.
- Take two plates.Spread spiced mashed peas on it. Add pakodis to it.Top with curd ,chopped Green chillies. Add chopped onion.Sprinkle black salt.Add fried peanut on top.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and crispy sev .Serve hot
