Green Chilli Thecha Recipe is easy to prepare. All you need is fresh green chillies , garlic , cumin seeds ,hemp seeds, peanuts and fresh coriander leaves. You may skip the coriander or can add mint leaves replacing that. But I personally love coriander in this Chutney. It complements well to the nutty flavour of hemp seeds.
Maharashtrian Thecha has many version. The main ingredients are Green Chillies garlic and cumin. The addition of hemp seeds uplifts the dish a level up. The crunchy texture and nutty flavour adds more flavour. You can reduce the quantity of chillies as per your preference. But when you say Thecha , it has to be spicy !

- 8 Green Chillies
- 1/2 cup Hemp seeds
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 5 Garlic cloves
- 1/4 cup Roasted peanuts
- 1/4 cup coriander leaves
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- salt

- In a pan roast hemp seeds at low flame for a minute. Be careful not to burn. You will get a nice nutty aroma when it’s done.
- In a pan heat oil. Add cumin and fry for 30 seconds.
- Add green chillies, garlic cloves and fry for a minute at low to medium flame.
- Add roasted peanuts, roasted hemp seeds , coriander leave and salt. Make a coarse paste. You can add a few drops of water if you need. Store in the refrigerator up to 5 days.
