The festival Durga Puja represents the great victory of Goddess Durga over the Buffalo demon named Mahishasura . I am really blessed as this year I got a chance to visit Kolkata. The entire city drowned in the colors of joyous Durga Puja celebration.

I did a night journey and early Morning i reached there. Breakfast was hing kachori and alu sabzi ending with 2 spiral Jalebis. There are Pujos at Para (residential area) , clubs, at those houses who been doing this year after year as a remark of their Family’s Culture and Glory. While themes of Pandals and idols changes every year. To witness a traditional Puja i went Shohabazar Rajbari ….

The city of joy was shinning with many Gorgeous Pandals ,blazing lights during the grand festival Durga Puja this year.

It was in the year 1757 after the Battle of Plassey, the first Durga Puja at the Shobha Bazar Choto Rajbari was initiated. Lord Clive & Warren Hastings were invited to Puja. Durga Puja celebration takes places in the two palaces of the Sovabazar royal family of Raja Nabakrishna Deb, founder of the Shobhabazar Rajbari. It was said that Goddess Durga Comes here to listen Music.

Pandal Hopping is such an festive activity which one enjoy doing with Family and Friends .And people do it whole night there enjoying those delicious Street foods. How could I have missed those bengali delicacies. .Garam Guguni Gupchup ,Macher Chop ,Mishti Doi ,Mutton Biriyani ..Not to be missed those Kulhad Chaii ,the signature tea of Kolkata Street..

And today is the Visarjan Day ,when we bid the Goddess Adieu. Durga Visarjan marks the ending of Durga Puja as Maa Durga departs back to her abode after this
